PUTIN-MODI meeting shocks the WEST

Dec 12 (Lagos) - Russian President is on a two day state visit to India where he was welcomed by PM Modi on the airport tarmac and given a guard of honor today ahead of the talks between the two nations.

India is long term purchaser of defense equipment from Russia,  a key relationship built over decades since its Independence. Russia has always stood with India in times of danger and war. India's dependence on Russia had been declining over the past decade as India decided to diversify its arms purchases by buying equipment from USA and France.

However the current US administration has managed to push this relationship even closer by accusing India of funding war in Ukraine by purchasing crude oil from Russia and imposing 25% tariffs on India. Meanwhile both the E.U and USA keep buying the same Russian oil indirectly. These moves by the US Government were perceived to be a stab in the back by the public in India and re-enforced old beliefs that the west could not be trusted.

Indian PM Modi re-iterated that India believes in a peaceful and diplomatic solution to the war in Ukraine. President Putin said that Russia was working towards a "peaceful solution to the Ukraine conflict" and thanked India for its efforts on the situation.

The double standards of the west have been exposed yet again and western journalists working for state-owned media giants have been sent into overdrive to print articles against India-Russia co-operation. Expect them to talk about human rights violations or how India is responsible for war in Ukraine.

While they ignore that the West is funding the war in Ukraine by pushing NATO boundaries on the Russian border something that Russia had been warning against for more than 10 years. Weak European governments see this war as their way of shifting attention away from the current economic and social upheaval going on in Countries like the U.K, France and Germany. These European Countries have become infested with crime, unemployment and their native populations are beginning to see the reality that their Countries have become a shadow of their past. Russia-Ukraine war is their bogey to keep public opinion occupied elsewhere.

Their state-funded journalists will continue to push false narratives as usual. Russia announced today that it is opening its own state backed media called RU (Russia Today) in India so now there will be Russian point of view in India to counter the Western propaganda machinery.
