DANGCEM & WAPCO BULLS take NSE higher   


June 10 (Lagos) - At the close of the market Thursday July 9th, the All stocks Index advanced by 0.74% to close at 39,170.95 points. The index performance was primarily supported by gains printed on cement duo  DANGCEM (+2.22%) and WAPCO (+4.22%). 


At the same time, bullish sentiments on OKOMUOIL (+9.75%), NASCON (+7.41%) and FLOURMILL (+2.74%) buoyed the NGX Consumer Goods Index by 0.28%. GUARANTY edged higher by 1.76% in the lenders' space, while STANBIC gained 1.09% to close at N 46.50. Save for a N 1.3bn cross on NESTLE today, value traded across the board was low. In summary, the year-to-date (YTD) return eased to -2.73% while market capitalization went up by N 150 billion to close at N 20.42 trillion.


 
Today, market activities were value-driven, with the value of trades surging by 148% while the volume of trades eased by 16.9%. A total of 181 million units of shares valued at N 3.96 billion were traded in 3,217 deals. ZENITHBANK (+0.22%) led the volume chart with 20 million units traded, while NESTLE (0.00%) led the value chart with over N 1.4 billion in deals.
 


Market breadth closed positive at a 4.17-to-1 ratio, with advancing issues outnumbering declining ones. CUTIX (+10.00%) topped twenty-four (24) others on the gainer's log while SOVRENINS (-3.57%) led five (5) others on the laggard's table.
