Crude oil prices spike on middle east tension   


Jan 3 (Lagos) - A top Iranian general was killed in a US airstrike in Iraq sparking tensions in the middle east yet again. He was the head of Iran's revolutionary guards an elite force of the nation. 


Brent crude oil futures jumped 4% before cooling off a bit to $ 68.15 a barrel at the time of writing this article. US crude also jumped almost 3% to $ 62.82 per barrel in New York. 


According to US version, the recent protests which turned into an attack at the US embassy was approved by the Iranian general. While the Iranian version called this an act of International terrorism.


Tensions in the middle east have been flaring recently. Things keep getting heated up every few months with different incidents.
