June 17 (Lagos) - Annual inflation for May 2019, released by the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics this morning, shows inflation rose further to 11.4% y/y.
Headline Inflation increased to 11.4% y/y (0.3% higher than 11.37% y/y in April 2019).
The food sub-index rose to 13.79% y/y from 13.70% y/y in April 2019, while the All items less farm produce sub-index dropped to 9.00% y/y from 9.30% y/y in April 2019.
Consumer Price Index (CPI) which measures inflation grew by 1.11% m/m (0.2% higher than what was recorded in April 2019 of 0.94% m/m)
