US stocks hit bear market territory
Dec 25 (Lagos) - Global stock markets are anything but merry this Christmas with the US stocks extending their decline into seventh day.

With the US Government partial shut down, investors were not ready to take any risk and stock stocks. When stock market falls 20% from recent high, it is considered as a bear market.

Typically bear markets take about 2 years to recover.

The Nigerian stock exchange in contrast rose sharply but overall we are still heavily in bear market territory. Hopefully 2019 can bring some much needed cheer in the stock market.

But the signs from the T-bills market are not very encouraging as yields continue to climb and that will continue to attract investors above the stock market for now.
