Nigeria’s Richie Riches named amongst the 100 most influential philanthropists in the world   

29 October 2018 : A British digital platform called Richtopia uses Kred scores ( Kred Influence Measurement ) to measure the online social influence to compile this list.This list consists of the proactive philanthropists in the world. 


The Top 5 positions in this list were bagged by billionaires like Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, J.K Rowling, followed by Oprah Winfrey and finally Elon Musk. 


Africa’s Richest man, Aliko Dangote boasted of bagging the sixth position in the list of the most charitable people in the world. His foundation, the Aliko Dangote Foundation made a whopping N7 billion donation to support displaced people affected by the Boko Haram crisis in the moth-east part of the continent.Earlier, this year in June’18, he inaugurated the “ Dangote Village” in Maiduguri built mainly for the Internally Displaced Persons in the Borno State Capital.


Another Nigerian Richie Rich, Tony Elumelu, a Billionaire banker and founder of Tony Elumelu Foundation made it to the 11th position on the list. Even though his Africapitalism idea implemented one of the most ambitious entrepreneurship programmes globally. In merely its 4th year, the TEF Entrepreneurship Programme empowered 4,460 entrepreneurs with a total investment of $20 million; 4,000 funded directly by the Foundation and 460 funded by partners. Each year, the foundation hosts about 5,000 young Africans in Lagos for Africa’s largest entrepreneurial convening.


The 2018 forum feature the launch of the TEFConnect, the world’s largest digital platform for African entrepreneurs, dedicated to connecting African entrepreneurs and the entrepreneurship ecosystem.
