Bears retaliate when Banks refused to give loans to them   
12 July 2018 ( Lagos ) : The equity sector continues to remain in negative territory after it shed 26.81 pts today losing 0.07%. The main contributor to this loss is the Banking sector. All the Banking giants and almost all the other companies in the sector declined majorly today wiz ( ZENITHBANK ) lost 1.64%, ( STERLNBANK ) went down by 1.37%, ( UBA ) shed 1.96%, ( GUARANTY ) lost 0.87%, ( ACCESS ) declined 3.37%, ( UBN ) and ( UNITYBNK ) also shed 3.33% and 1.96% respectively. ( STANBIC )'s gain of 0.98% was like a drop of water in the ocean.

The gains in Cement hulks- ( DANGCEM ) by 0.89% and ( WAPCO ) by 1.77%, managed to reduce the total loss in NSEASI, but did not have enough strength to push it to green. 

In the consumer goods sector, ( FLOURMILL ), ( HONYFLOUR ), ( DANGFLOUR ), ( DANSUGAR ) and ( NB ) all went down by 0.81%, 6.37%, 3%, 2.86%, 0.72% respectively. But this sector did see some advances as well, with ( INTBREW ) surging 5.61% and ( UNILEVER ) going up by 0.29%.

Lastly the sentiments at the oil and gas sector was predominantly bearish , ( OANDO ) and ( FO ) went down by 2.29% and 3.51% respectively and the gain in ( JAPAULOIL ) of 3.3% couldn't really save grace.

( ACCESS )recorded the highest volume of 116 million traded shares, followed by ( ZENITHBANK(41.05m), ( TRANSCORP ) (23.73m ) and ( GUARANTY ) ( 14.65 m )
