DANGCEM weighs on Nigerian Bourse yet again and causes its ASI ship to sink by 0.76%.This caused a slack in the industrial goods sector as well, and unfortunately the dip in (
WAPCO ) by 2.5% made things worse. These declines beat out (
CCNN )'s gain of 3.12%
Most sectors closed in red today, expect the insurance industry, which performed really well and observed some major wins buoyed by gains in (
SOVRENINS ) by 6.9% , (
NEM ) by 4.83%, (
EQUITYASUR ) by 4.55% and (AIICO ) by 1.67%.
Banking sector, also performed fairly well with advances in ( JAIZBANK ), ( ZENITHBANK) and (
GUARANTY ) overpowered the decline in (
UBA ) by 0.93%.
The oil and gas sector also behaved in a sluggish manner, caused by declines in (
ETERNA ), (
FO ) and (
OANDO ) by 4.93%, 4.82% and 1.5% respectively. Even the rise in (
OKOMUOIL ) by 4.43% couldn't save this sector.
Due to increased competition from Grand cereals and Olam, (
LIVESTOCK ) shares fell by 4.82%
Lastly, (
HONYFLOUR ) and (
NB ) dragged the consumer goods sector after dipping by 1.34% and 8.33% respectively.
