Bears continue to slay ASI.
21 June 2018 ( Lagos ) : The Nigerian stock exchange remained in the negative territory today, with most sectors closing in red today causing the ASI to drop by 1.17%.

It wasn't a great day for the Dangote group with ( DANGCEM ) losing 3.64% and ( DANGSUGAR ) falling by 2.06%. Since, ( DANGCEM ) is the most heavily weighted stock in the Nigerian bourse, it strongly affects the ASI movement and hence even the advances in ( DANGFLOUR ) of 0.96%, dint really save grace. This affected the Industrial goods sector as well, and the steep fall of ( CCNN ) by 4.76% really dint help the case.

In the banking sector, the advances made by ( FIDELITYBK ) of 4.59%,and  ( ACCESS ) of 0.97% were not able to overpower the declines in ( JAIZBANK ), ( ZENITHBANK ), ( UBA ), ( GUARANTY ) and ( STANBIC ) of 4.48%, 1.15%, 0.47%, 1.48% and 0.51 % respectively.

The oil and gas and consumer goods sector shared mixed sentiments, with ( JAPAULOIL ) feeling bullish by gaining 9.3%, but ( SEPLAT ) and ( ETERNA ) just missed the bull arena and fell by 4.49% and 1.39% respectively. Similarly, where ( NB ) advanced by 2.75%; (  HONYFLOUR ) fell by 5%.

Lastly, insurance sector observed some nice gains, with ( MANSARD ) and ( NEM ) rising by 4.91% and 4.69% respectively.
