08 June 2018 ( Lagos) : Shares of
PRESTIGE rose today because the Company is giving a 41-100 shares bonus issue which will be up for shareholders approval at the AGM which is next week. These shares have suffered along with the rest of the Insurance sector and today they rose on very low volume.
Despite (
PRESTIGE ) returning with a bang,soaring 45.65% in 24 hours; it wasn't a very positive day for Nigerian Stock Exchange.
The ASI went down 0.96%, mainly because of 1.42% decline in Dangote Cement Plc
DANGCEM ). In the Oil and gas sector, (
OANDO ) which experienced a dip of 8.84%. (
OANDO ) has been observing a downward trend since return from suspension. Eterna Oil (
ETERNA ) shares declined almost 5% today as well. But tt wasn't an entirely rough day for the oil and gas sector either, with 11 Plc shares (
MOBIL ) going up 5%.
The banking (
DIAMONDBNK ) and industrial goods sector (
CCNN ) did not enjoy a day at the beach either, and fell down by 6.17% and 5% respectively.
On the other hand, (
JAPAULOIL ) and (
CADBURY ) enjoyed another joyous day, by gaining 6.9% and 4.98% respectively.
