World Bank to commit US$2.1bn to rebuild north-east Nigeria
July 22 ( Lagos) -The World Bank has unfolded a package which would see it spend up to US$2.1bn in rebuilding the badly devastated North-eastern part of Nigeria, which has been ravaged for the past six years by the insurgency.
The World Bank will spend the US$2.1bn through its International Development Agency (IDA), which gives low interest rates loans to government.
The first 10 years will be interest free, while an additional 30 years will be at lower than capital market rates.
