  Stocks not in Holiday spirit

      

14 June 2018 : Gains fizzled out, as the Nigerian Stock Exchange returned to the negative territory, before the onset of the long weekend. The main culprit? The Pharmaceuticals sector; that drove the ASI to lose 1.05% in 24 hours. No thanks to ( FIDSON ), which has been almost on a flat trend since the past month, dipped 5% today. ( NEIMETH ) also declined by 4.76%.


( AIICO ) led laggards again today by falling 4.84%


( INTBREW ) led the consumer goods sector to pare its gains by losing 4.79%. But the consumer goods sector did see some good advances as well, with ( DANGSUGAR ) and ( FLOURMILL )going up 2.1% and 0.46% respectively. 


The banking sector was quite sluggish today by closing on red followed by declines in ( GUARANTY ) of about 1.2%; ( UBA ) lost 0.46%; and ( ZENITHBANK ) also fell by 0.56%


Although these declines royally overshadowed the gains; but nevertheless, the oil and gas industry manifested incredible gains today, buoyed by advances in ( JAPAULOIL ) which continues to bully the industry, and gains 5.56%.  ( ETERNA ) which at the start of the week was loyal to its downward trend, advanced 5% today. ( OKOMUOIL ) and ( TOTAL ) closed in green by earning 5% and 4.97% respectively.


The winner of the week was ( IKEJAHOTEL) that shot up 9.2%, Going by today's result investors of ( IKEJAHOTEL ) will be having a great holiday!
