13 June 2018: The Nigerian Stock Exchange got the mid-week blues after closing in on red for the day, losing 0.35%. Major contributor to the decline was the Banking sector, that really led laggards today, leading with ( DIAMONDBNK
) that shed 5%, closely followed by ( UNTIYBNK ) losing 4.35% and maintaining its downward trend since the start of the year. ( SKYEBNK ) did not want to left behind, and readily lost 0.03 ppts. ( AIICO
) also fell down by 4.62%.
These declines were overshadowed by the advances in the oil and gas and the consumer sector. ( JAPAULOIL
) made its investors proud by gaining 5.88%; ( UAC-PROP
) was another strong gainer for the day, obtaining 4.98%.
Special mention to ( PRETIGE ) which managed to come out of the ICU, and close at green, gaining 4.92%.
( LEARNAFRCA ) went up by 4.86%, which we would assume to be a positive development for the economy.
