Aug 2 (Lagos) - Dangote Sugar Plc (DANGSUGAR) reported unaudited financial results for the first six months of 2012. Top line revenue increased by 10% to N 5.73 billion in the half year 2012.
Profit after tax increased by 91% to N 5.73 billion in the half year up from N 3 billion in the same period of 2011. The sharp increase in profit could a direct result of a fall in the international price of Sugar. That would cause a sharp fall in cost of goods sold for the company and result in a sharp gain in PAT.
Shares of Dangote Sugar Plc (DANGSUGAR) closed higher by more than 3% at N 4.65 per share at the Nigerian Stock Exchange in Lagos.
